I have the privilege of knowing both Australia and New Zealand up close and personally.
Having lived in New Zealand most of my life and now a resident of Australia for the last 9 years, I can say unabashedly as far as Adventure is concerned Australia can’t hold a candle to New Zealand.
If all aspects of New Zealand’s adventurous playground were transferred to Australia that would be Utopia for me. Heaven on earth with a ribbon tied around it and sugar on top.
It’s enough to make me want to break into song, but I will break into poetry instead.
Here is a little bit of poetry that conveys some of the motion in New Zealand’s adventurous nature:
Snow, to glide on ski’s…….Snow filled Ski slopes in both the north and south islands
Waters to sail the seas…….Auckland’s City of Sails Twice the winner of the America’s cup
Green grass, to trek upon…..Farm stays share everyday life on a dairy, cattle or sheep farm
Slide down on a toboggan……Plenty of steep slopes with toboggan runs
Bungy off a tower on high…..Bungy jump over Lake Te Anaus river. NZ the home of Bungy
Parachute from the sky……..Planes leave frequently with Parachute teams
Extreme adventures abound…..Every major city and town have local excursions
Beautiful countryside around..Hiking is a favorite and the sceneries to die for
Mountain regions to hike……A lot of mountain treks available with experienced guides
Cycling tracks to bike……..Cycle some of the most rugged tracks your bound to find
Moving Glaciers to view…….Franz Josef Glazier has Mountain huts to stay when Trekking
All this to exhilarate you….Don’t stop there, the funs only just begun
Flying foxes swoop you along..Canterbury Plains have Flying Foxes to knock off your soxes
Dolphins to swim among……..Dolphins are part of the seascape and join swimmers often
Humpback Whales to watch……Whale watching has become a major event in Kaikoura
Godzones is at your touch…..Godzone – NZs nickname because it is gods own zone
Scenic sights to gaze ……..Pristine, Rugged scenery, touched only by eyes
Thrills and spills to amaze…Canoe around Lake Taupo
Zorbing down a mountain side..A big round ball, you hop into and roll down a hill
Surf sailing on the tide……Surfboard with a giant sail attached to speed along the waves
White water rafting rush……Kayak down the rushing, rugged, rock filled rapids
Watching the Geysers gush…..Soak in the hot therapeutic sulphur bathes
